England Cricket Association for the Deaf (ECAD) is delighted to announce that it has signed its first major sponsorship deal with Access to Work BSL specialists Involve Interpreter.

The sponsorship deal will see Involve as the main shirt sponsor for ECAD’s 1st XI for the next two seasons, as well as being the named sponsor for ECAD’s regional T20 festival.

ECAD was launched in 2002 and supports players from a wide range of backgrounds. The charity works closely with the ECB to promote Deaf Cricket across the UK and has produced players for England’s Deaf national teams.

At the top end of ECAD’s pathway (below the 1stXI) there are three regional teams who play friendly matches around once a month in the summer. There is also an ECAD Academy team for younger players. This team generally plays one or two games per year and trains once a month over the winter.

Involve Interpreter are specialists in providing professional and reliable VRI/VRS video services for deaf people. This specialist support is ideal for employed and self-employed individuals who require communication support at work or in their business.

As part of the sponsorship deal, Involve will also offer 15-20 hours of online BSL interpreters at ECAD matches and coaching sessions.

Darren Talbot, Chief Executive Officer of England Cricket Association for the Deaf, said: “We are excited to announce our first sponsorship deal, and with Involve we have found a trusted partner who will support the vital work we do to enable our members to play a high level of cricket.

“Involve’s sponsorship will help support the wide range of events we hold throughout the year, including our regional T20 festival, which brings together the best Deaf cricketers from across the country, and is an important pathway in the progression of these players.

“We are always looking at ways in which to improve the funding of Deaf cricket, and we hope to secure further sponsorship deals in the future which will allow us to provide more opportunities for our members. We also want to thank Sharks Cricket for its continued support with the design for our shirts.”

Mick Roach, from Involve Interpreter said: “Here at Involve, we are really proud to become ECAD’s official shirt sponsor for 2021 as well as providing key BSL Interpreting support to the players and coaching staff throughout this year. In addition to this support, we truly believe that there is real synergy between both organisations that will support our partnership working over years to come.”
